I MISS MY LITTLE GIRL

I miss this little girl

She is all grown up now

And has a world of her own

Fighting her own battles

Winning some, losing some

I missed the twinkle in her eyes

Her always can do attitude

Her adventurous spirit

Now, she had many fears

She doubted her ability

I pray that someday

She will regain her better self

That she change for the better

Explore the world without fear

Enjoy her life without reservation

I love her so

She is the child of my heart

My blessing, my miracle

And I kneel in prayer

For her eyes to twinkle again

Note: I wrote this last November 29, 2019, when I saw my memory on social media of her picture of twinkling eyes and a scratch on her forehead. I am trying to search that exact photo on my album but can't find it.

2016 Year End Family Road Trip to Banaue

A view of the Banaue Rice Terraces from the main viewpoint

If you have been following JADSpirits blog, you already know that we love road trips and most were unplanned.

For the end of 2016, our wandering feet brought us to the mountainous area of Northern Luzon. December 27~31, we embarked on a 5D/4N road trip to Banaue-Bontoc-Sagada-Vigan with our reliable travel buddy, Alphie, a 2006 2nd Gen Honda CRV. With less than 24-hours preparation…and no definite itinerary.

My 2017 Word of the Year: Persevere

Persevere, my 2017 Word of the Year

It is 2017. New year, new beginning. And a new chance to be a better version of ourselves.

And I know my WotY (Word of the Year)…PERSEVERE.

This will be my guiding word all throughout the year. And I pray that just like GRATITUDE, my one word for 2016, it will serve its purpose. Not just in enriching my life but the lives that I will have the chance to touch, however fleeting it may be. That in moment of weakness or doubt, this word will give me the strength and the courage to move on.

Google define PERSEVERE as

continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no prospect of success

Friends by Shemaella Daniz

Shemaella Daniz' writing about friend

Friends are family we choose for ourselves.
Friends are fun to be with. Real friends take care of you. My friends are kind and they always give food to me if I don’t have any food. They are always there if I need any help. Sometimes if we fight, we think of what we have done and apologize to each other. Sometimes, one of us needs to be alone. And we come to comfort one of our friends who is sad.

When Daniz showed me the result of their essay writing, the first line rings a bell. I usually came across this quote when searching the net about friends.

I asked her, “how did you know the line, did you copy it?” That was harsh, I know :( ...I should have praised her first for writing a good essay.

She immediately replied, “No po, I remember reading it in the internet.”

I told her, “Anak, the next time you uses a line or a sentence that you read or heard, please use a quotation mark.”

Grieving the Loss of a Dearest Mother, Mommy Lydia

Missing your smile Mommy Lydia...
One of my fave pictures of Mommy Lydia taken last July 30, 2016 during my 50th Birthday Celebration

It’s been two days since we brought my mother-in-law, Mommy Lydia to her final resting place last December 7, 2016.

She joined her Savior and Creator last December 2, 2016 at the age of 79

I love Mommy Lydia dearly…like my own mother. And she treated me like her own. Jonjie  always say that I am the daughter and he is the son-in-law.

Much as I want to focus on my pains, but I know that Jonjie is suffering more than I do. And he’s doing it silently…
